Private Art Class or Children’s Birthday Party is $100 for 2 – 5 participants
Each additional person participating in the art activity is $20
Recommended maximum group size is 12 people, however we can discuss accommodating a larger group.
First Grade is the minimum age . . . when scheduling a private birthday party or art class for children. Younger children can participate in a family group art class; however, the parents are responsible for the child’s actions.
You Pick the Day and Time . . . Choose any day of the week, and any time of the day/evening to schedule your 2-hour Art Class or Children’s Birthday Party. We don’t charge any fee if you need to reschedule the day and/or time of your art class.
You Pick the Art Activity . . . Choose from a variety of art mediums and 2-D and 3-D art projects. We are happy to assist you in choosing the best art activity for your group; based on age, number of participants, and interests. Feel free to come in with your own ideas and we will try to accommodate you.
All materials are included in the cost.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
David Smith, owner and Illinois licensed art teacher, teaches all our private art classes.
Smith Studio had taught the Geneseo Park Distrist's children's art classes for over 12 years. Before coming to Geneseo, David taught art for over 37 years at both private and public schools (elementary though college). He has held workshops in India, Singapore and Australia for Very Special Arts an organization to help people with disabilities. David was recognized by the National Art Education Association as the 1994 “Illinois Art Educator of the Year”, the Illinois Art Education Association as the 2011 “Elementary Art Educator” and also in 2014 he was recognized as an IAEA Distinguished Member.
• Art materials are included in cost
• We reserve 2 hours for private art classes/birthday parties.
• Birthday party art activities have a shorter time frame (60-90 minute), which gives everyone time to complete the art project, have cake and open gifts during the 2 hours.
• Minimum age for children’s parties is First Grade. Younger children can participate in the family group art class; however, the parents are responsible for their child’s actions.
• All art classes are held in the classroom space on the art gallery main floor.
• Our 124 S. State Street entrance, gallery main floor and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.
Smith Studio and Gallery
Information for bringing food and/or beverages in for your group.
• NO Alcoholic Beverages are allowed on Smith Studio and Gallery store premises.
• There is no prep kitchen on Smith Studio premises. We have a small refrigerator/freezer that you can use.
• In compliance with Henry County Health Department Food Ordinance any food brought in for a Private Art Class or Children’s Birthday Party must be prepared, delivered, served and disposed of in an appropriate manner to ensure the safety of the food for consumption. The person/organization arranging the Art Class/Party agrees to be liable for any food brought onto the premises by themselves, members of their group or food vendor. Smith Studio and Gallery, LLC will not be held liable for any food/beverages brought in and served by the parent/guardian, members of the group and/or vendors hired by person/organization listed on the contract.
